Welcome to the Academy
Utilizing his strong foundation in both hairstyling and traditional barbering, J.S. Ryan & Co. has created a curriculum with a primary focus on "Short hair Education." Our objective is to provide a well-rounded, all-encompassing education platform for anyone interested in a barbering career or salon stylists looking to improve their skills in dealing with short hair.
Courses
This one-day class is designed for both Barbers and Hairstylists to refine their scissor and clipper techniques with a particular focus on short and mid-length hair.
We have taken the techniques, and fundamentals taught in most traditional hair school curriculums and re-engineered them for maximum efficiency and impact on short hair.
Many students struggle with the ability to blend their clipper work into their scissor work. This course will walk you through our method of combining both to create a perfect short haircut.
This 4-day class is designed for Barbers and Hairstylists at any experience level, from beginners to veterans. More experienced students can refine their scissor and clipper techniques. At the same time, beginners will learn our fundamentals, both with a particular focus on short and mid-length hair.
Day 1: Fundamentals. Day 1 of this course will provide students with concepts, theory and structured procedures to build their knowledge base and skills in Short hair cutting.
Day 2: Layering and Graduation. We will cover the difference between graduation and layering, types, and when and where they can be applied.
Day 3: Fading and Connection. We will use our graduation and layering techniques as well as learn the Collective Academy Fading Method.
Day 4: Combined Application. We will apply all we have learned thus far: consultation and proper sectioning, layering and graduation, fading and connection. We will also learn how to refine and personalize our haircuts.
